Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven – 8 p.m. – 7 a.m.

(for Men)

1805 N. 12th Street, Hbg.

Guests are entered into Safe Haven between 8 – 10 pm.  Guests must be out by 7 am.  Coffee, tea, small snack available to single men.  Coffee available next morning.  No meals, no showers.  Capacity:  25.  If needed, SHSH will make arrangements by calling Bethesda for overflow.  Some volunteers still needed on various days.  Please call Christian Churches United, 230-9550 for details.

Overnight Winter Shelter Rules and Policies

WINTER 2015

 Bethesda Mission welcomes overnight winter shelter guests.  Our overnight winter shelter will operate from December 1, 2015 – March 31, 2016.  Our overnight winter shelter provides a clean, safe environment where a man can get some sleep away from the elements during the winter months. Questions: Please call 257 4440.  Please note the following:

  1. No man will be turned away for capacity reasons.
  2. Doors open: 8:00pm; doors close 10pm. Guests arriving after 10:30 pm may not be accommodated.
  3. Lights out: 10:30pm; wake up: 6:00am. Guests are expected to leave the building by 6:30am.
  4. Breakfast is available at the Salvation Army on Green Street.

 

YWCA of Greater Harrisburg – 8:00 p.m. – 7 a.m.

(for Women)

STARTING JANUARY 1, 2016

1101 Market Street, Hbg.

The YWCA offers an overnight shelter for women who are living on the street during the cold weather months beginning January 1 unless there is a winter weather emergency; and ending March 31. The doors open at 8:00 pm and close at 9:30 pm. Light refreshments are available. Exit is at 7 am the following morning. Capacity is 10 women.
